Mr. Wan, head of International Cooperation Department at NAFMII, is responsible for the opening-up of Chinese interbank bond market, the development of panda bond market,Free Trade Zone bond market, and international cooperation and communications with other financial institutions. As of June 2017, twenty-one foreign institutions, including British Columbia (Canada), Republic of Poland, Daimler, Veolia and etc., have registered more than 200 billion RMB panda bond. Additionally, Mr.Wan closely follows the government’s strategic guidance while developing the bond market – he actively promotes the bond market development to serve the ‘Belt and Road’ Initiative and Free Trade Zone plan.
Mr.Wan strives for building long-standing relationships with foreign governments, regulatory bodies and self-regulatory organizations. As of June 2017, NAFMII has connected with 243 institutions from 42 countries and asreas.
Mr. Wan has worked as the head of Financial Innovation Department of NAFMII in the past. He has promoted the research and innovation on M&A note, carbon index linked note, green bond as well as other innovative products.
Before joining NAFMII, Mr. Wan worked in the investment banking division at CITIC Securities Co. Ltd. Before CITIC, he worked in the Department of Translation and Interpretation, and the Spokesperson’s Office at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Mr. Wan obtained his doctoral degree from Beijing Normal University, with expertise in international financial market cooperation and bond market development.
