Sheng Wang is Managing Director, Deputy Head of Global Banking and Head of Financial Institutions Group of HSBC Bank (China) Company Limited (“HSBC China”), leading Financial Insitutions Group, Institution Clients Group, Public Sector and Capital Markets teams.

After joining HSBC in 2010, he has undertaken various management positions in Global Banking in China and Asia Pacific, including Head of Financial Institutions Group, China; Head of Capital Financing, China before assuming his current duty in October 2020.

Mr Wang has extensive experience covering key financial institution clients in Greater China. He has led many of the most important transactions for Chinese financial institutions in international capital markets, and has been instrumental to HSBC’s participation in the primary activities in China’s onshore interbank bond market. In a previous role  leading HSBC’s capital financing efforts in China, Mr Wang played a key part in developing the Bank’s market-leading Panda bond underwriting franchise.

Prior to joining HSBC, Mr Wang worked at Citibank and Bank of China Head Office. Mr Wang holds a Master’s degree and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of International Business and Economics. He is a nonpracticing member of the Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a member of the Bond Market Expert Committee of the National Association of Financial Market Institutional Investors (NAFMII).
