Philippe Dirckx is Managing Director, Head of the Markets & Initiatives team in the Asia Pacific region, and is also part of the SWIFT Asia Pacific management team. Leading a team of market and product experts, Philippe is responsible for driving the execution of SWIFT’s strategic market initiatives in Asia Pacific. His team works closely with the commercial teams and provides unique market insights to support them, in areas including financial market infrastructures, fintech & innovation, payment markets, securities markets, trade finance, corporate access, business intelligence, reference data and compliance services.

Philippe has 30 years of experience in securities markets, financial market infrastructures and commercial banking. His expertise also lies in executive management roles, as well as strategic business planning and implementation for strategic initiatives. Prior to joining SWIFT, Philippe was Managing Director and Regional Head of Intermediaries and Market Infrastructures at Citi Transaction Services for Asia Pacific. He spearheaded partnership building and advoacacy with Infrastructure clients, including regional exchanges, central depositaries and clearing houses. And before that, he was Head of Asia Pacific for Euroclear, where he was responsible for all business activities and clients in the region. Prior to this role, Philippe worked for Fortis in a variety of executive roles in both Europe and Asia for 20 years.

Philippe holds a Master’s Degree in Economics from the Louvain-la-Neuve University, Belgium and an Executive Master’s Degree in Management from the Solvay Business School in Brussels. He is based in Hong Kong.
