Ona Retnesti Swaminingrum is Head of Securities Institution, Supervision Department in Indonesia’s Financial Services Authority – Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK). She holds a strategic position to supervise securities companies and self-regulatory organisations, including the Indonesian Stock Exchange, the Clearing and Guarantee Institution and the Depository and Settlement Institution.

Prior to this role, she had various assignments that shaped her expertise in Capital Market policy. As the Head of Capital Market Supervision Department 1A, she harmonised capital market laws and regulations, participated in the recent enacted national omnibus law on financial sector reformation, provided legal opinions on capital market regulations, and conducted research on sustainable finance, carbon trade, and digital assets. She also initiated the draft of carbon trade regulation to establish the secondary market of the mandatory carbon trade. She was also involved in the national discussions of the current issues related to capital markets, such as carbon market, carbon trade mechanism, and sustainable finance.

She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Law from Airlangga University and a master’s degree from Boston University.
