Nicholas is an emerging market credit risk professional with substantial experience in cross-border lending, portfolio management and debt restructuring in both the private and public sector.

He currently serves as head of the credit and investment risk unit at the new Beijing-based Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), which he joined from the London-based European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). Alongside his official duties, Nicholas is a frequent commentator on managing the risks associated with The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), as well as country risk more generally.

Nicholas has previously held risk roles at UBS Investment Bank in London/Sydney and ANZ Bank in Melbourne. He is an alumnus of the University of Melbourne, BeijingUniversity’s Guanghua School of Management and Harvard Business School (HBS), where he has completed executive education. Nicholas is a CFA® charterholder.
