Ilan joined Citi’s Global Government Affairs team in February 2015. An expert in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) regulation and policy, he is a Director in the EMEA Government Affairs team, where he leads the development of Citi’s ESG advocacy.

Ilan is currently Vice Chair of the Financial Services Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce to the European Union and Co-Chair of the International Regulatory Strategy Group’s (IRSG) Sustainable Finance Taxonomy Working Group.

Prior to joining Citi, Ilan spent over eight years in a variety of roles at GE, where he was responsible for Government Affairs and Policy for GE Capital across Europe.

Before working in banking, Ilan was an aide to Peter Mandelson and Philip Gould, new Labour’s senior campaign strategist.

Ilan is the Chair of Governors of Alma Primary, a local school in the London Borough of Barnet, where he lives with his wife and 2 daughters.
