Hiroki was appointed the Head of Engagement of Japan in January 2017 and has been engaging with management of investee companies on their business model and strategies to promote competitive value creation and provide guidance for better outcomes. He joined Fidelity in 2007 as a Director of Research. He has more than 30 years of experience in investing in equities globally and 14 years of shareholder engagement. Prior to joining Fidelity, he has experience in various investment management roles and was an equity analyst/fund manager in Nippon Life Insurance Co and its asset management arms.
Hiroki is an active member of working groups and regulatory councils in Japan advising on the capital market, corporate governance and ESG issues. These include the task force of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) to the Financial Services Agency (FSA) and the Ministry of Justice (MOJ), to name a few.
