About the event
ASIFMA held the Annual Conference 2013, with the theme for this first-of-a-kind, two-day event ‘Developing Asia’s Capital Markets’.
The conference was an industry-wide occasion, providing a unique opportunity for global and regional policy makers, high-level regulators and industry representatives from both sell-side and buy-side firms to meet and discuss important issues affecting the development of Asia’s capital markets.
The conference received valuable support from over 30 sponsors in the financial industry, with global and Asian policy makers’ participation. HKSAR Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury K C Chan, ADB President Takehiko Nakao, ASIC Commissioner Greg Tanzer, FDIC Director Jeremiah Norton, FSC Korea Standing Commissioner Jaehoon Yoo, HKMA Chief Executive Norman Chan, MoF Japan Vice Minister of Finance for International Affairs Mitsuhiro Furusawa, SFC HK CEO Ashley Alder, and Promontory Chairman of Governance & Markets Mary Schapiro spoke at the event.
Our inaugural annual conference in Hong Kong this year had support from over 400 delegates and more than 100 speakers including senior representatives from the HKSAR government, SFC HK, HKMA, ADB, MoF Japan, FSA Japan, FSC Korea, MoF Thailand, ECB, EU Commission, BIS, Bank of England, FDIC, US Mission to ASEAN, HKEx, PSE and leading financial institutions.
