“Currently, the rules for retail fund management companies are so strict, you’re not supposed to share anything about your business with your parent company, whether it’s domestic or offshore,” she had added.

 

The latest updates to the rules follow a separate whitelist for cross-border data sharing published by Shanghai’s Lingang free trade zone in 2024, which Shen had said came as a “disappointment” to the industry.
