Irene Ho is the Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of HSBC Qianhai Securities Limited. She is also an Executive Director of the Board of HSBC Qianhai. HSBC Qianhai is incorporated in Shenzhen in August 2017 as HSBC’s flagship securities and investment banking entity in China, and a subsidiary of the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited.
Irene joined HSBC’s Debt Capital Markets unit in Hong Kong in 1997, and in 2002 she was seconded to the World Bank’s Beijing office as a Financial Sector Specialist focusing on capacity building initiatives for China’s financial sector regulators. She was appointed Head of Strategy of HSBC Bank (China) Company Limited in 2005 to lead the development of the Bank’s China strategy and implementing strategic projects in the country.
Irene worked for the Shenzhen based Ping An Securities Company Limited from 2008 to 2014 and her last role was President of the Company.
She rejoined HSBC in 2014 as Managing Director, Global Banking and Markets to spearhead the launch of HSBC Qianhai Securities Limited.
Irene holds a degree in Computer Science for Data management from the University of Toronto. She is also a CFA Charterholder.
