Shigesuke Kashiwagi was appointed President and Representative Director of Schroder Investment Management (Japan) in July 2016.

Prior to this, he was Executive Managing Director, Chief Financial Officer of Nomura Holdings, Inc. Before that, he was Senior Managing Director of Group Strategy and Executive Office with particular focus on regulatory strategy for Nomura. He joined Nomura in 1982 and has extensive experience in Fixed Income business holding roles in both New York and London. He has held various senior leadership positions at Nomura, including serving as Head of Global Fixed Income and as President and CEO of Nomura Holdings America, Inc.

He has a BA in Economics from Keio University in Japan and a MBA from New York University.
