Toshio Tsuiki became Deputy Secretary General of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision in April 2017. He first served on the Basel Committee Secretariat from 2008-2012 when he contributed to the development of the Basel Committee’s response to the global financial crisis.
Before joining the Secretariat, Mr Tsuiki held various positions within the Bank of Japan including Deputy Director General of the Financial System and Bank Examination Department, Private Secretary to the Deputy Governor and Representative in Europe located in London.
Mr Tsuiki holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and an LL.B. from the University of Tokyo.
