Mr. Pierre Rousseau is Head of Global Markets for BNP Paribas Asia Pacific. Based in Hong Kong, he was appointed to this position in January 2015. Previously as Head of Global Equities and Commodity Derivatives for Asia Pacific, Pierre has been leading the platforms of both Equity Cash, and Equities Derivatives in Asia Pacific for BNP Paribas since 2009.

Since July 2015, Pierre has also been supervising the Financial Institutions Coverage unit for APAC. In addition, Pierre leads BNP Paribas’ initiatives in Sustainable Finance and Investment for APAC.

Pierre has almost 3 decades of extensive experience in finance, in which over 20 years were spent in Asia Pacific. Prior to joining BNP Paribas, he was Head of Equity for APAC with Credit Agricole, as well as worked at Indosuez WI Carr Securities (IWICS) in Hong Kong where he created an integrated electronic trading platform.

Pierre started his career in 1985 as a financial controller with Citibank Benelux, after attaining a Diploma in Commercial Engineering. He then joined Banque Indosuez’ Luxembourg office in 1988 and moved to Asia in 1993, based in Singapore and Tokyo respectively as Chief Operating Officer at Banque Indosuez and Credit Agricole Indosuez until 2000.
