Based in Shanghai, Leo Shen is the Director, General Manager of Allianz Global Investors Fund Management Company Co., Ltd. He is also a member of International Management Group at Allianz Global Investors. Leo has over 23-year experience in financial industry and played various senior management roles in the investment consulting and asset management industries in North America, China and Hong Kong SAR. He was CIO of Manulife-Sinochem Insurance (China), COO of Morgan Stanley Investment Management (Asia), Deputy General Manager of Morgan Stanley Huaxin Fund Management (China) and Deputy CEO of Rongtong Global Investment (Hong Kong). Before joining Allianz Global Investors, Leo was the China Wealth Leader at Mercer China and General Manager at Mercer Investment Management (Shanghai) Ltd. Leo has extensive and diverse expertise in the asset management industry, having overseen corporate strategy, investment management, business development, and fund operations. He is also an expert in cross-border investment between China and overseas, having assisted a number of Chinese institutional investors (such as sovereign wealth funds, banks, insurance companies, wealth managers, family offices, and corporations) in investing in a variety of asset classes both domestically and globally. In addition, he also specializes in pension and ESG investment. He has been appointed to various roles by the Insurance Asset Management Association of China, including Advisor and Senior Advisor for the Pension Professional Committee, since 2019. He has also assisted several top financial institutions in China in establishing sustainable investment processes.
