Paulina Dejmek Hack is Director for General Affairs at DG FISMA since February 2021. From 2019 to 2021, she was the Director of the Taskforce for relations with the United Kingdom at the European Commission, leading the Brexit negotiations.
In her strategic role as Director, she oversees several policy definition and coordination units but most importantly, the International Affairs unit through which she covers many issues. Among them, international affairs and cooperation with other jurisdictions play a central role. She also sits in various European international fora discussing the global dimension of regulatory initiatives, such as the EU-US Forum and EU-Japan forum.
From 2014 to 2019, she was the financial adviser to the European Commission’s President, Jean-Claude Juncker. Before that, she was a member of Commissioner Michel Barnier’s cabinet, where her portfolio included analysis of financial markets, financial reporting, insurance and pensions, payment services, risk management, financial crime and company law & corporate governance.
Paulina Dejmek Hack is a former Swedish Financial Services attaché, who had a key role in the running of the Swedish Presidency of the Council in 2009.
