    Job Opening – Executive Assistant/Secretary, ASIFMA (Deadline: Wednesday 21 April 2017)

    Role:

    The scope of this role would cover, but not be limited to, the following:

    • Provide full range of secretarial and administrative support to two teams including organizing meeting schedules, traveling and logistics arrangement
    • Format documents and reports at an advanced level (primarily Power Point, Word and Excel)  
    • Prepare various meeting and presentation materials, etc
    • Answer telephone calls and meet with external guests in a professional manner
    • Follow up on meetings, emails to members on upcoming events, seminars
    • Assist with administrative duties such as office supplies management
    • Assist in website updating
    • Perform other tasks as assigned

    Requirements:

    • Degree/ Diploma holder in any business field
    • 1-3 years or above relevant working experience
    • Strong fluency in written and spoken English, Mandarin and Cantonese
    • Proficient in PC skills including MS Word, Excel and Power Point and Chinese Word Processing
    • Excellent formatting skills
    • Well organized, detailed-oriented, responsible, flexible & self-motivated
    • Immediate availability is highly preferable

    Job Opening – Analyst, Policy and Regulatory Affairs, ASIFMA (Deadline: Wednesday 21 April 2017)

    Role:

    The Analyst’s main role will be to support the Public and Regulatory Affairs Division. This will involve a wide range of responsibilities, including regulatory and quantitative research, but also:

    • Identifying publications and research articles that support ASIFMA policy initiatives;
    • Performing research related to a specific assignment and drafting reports on the findings;
    • Assisting the Executive Director and team members in organizing and conducting member committees or working groups;
    • Attending committee and industry meetings, taking minutes and drafting action points for distribution to members;
    • Coordinating with other Analysts from ASIFMA’s other teams as required;
    • Communicating with members on regulatory/market developments;
    • Preparing or contributing to ASIFMA publications and white papers; and
    • Assisting in the development and distribution of communications with members as needed.

    Key Competencies:

    • Educated to degree level (Bachelors or above), preferably in finance, economics, law or a related field
    • Knowledge of (and preferably 1-2 years’ experience in) capital markets or relevant areas
    • Analytic skills necessary to understand the legal and regulatory issues affecting the industry and capital markets
    • Excellent organisational and project management skills, including the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
    • A strong interest in capital markets regulation and related public policy issues
    • Basic understanding of financial markets in Asia and how stocks, bonds and derivatives work
    • Strong spread-sheet and database and PowerPoint skills
    • Strong verbal and written communications skills for business correspondence and advocacy
    • Fluency in verbal and written English is a must; business proficiency in an Asian language, ideally Mandarin Chinese, is a plus

    Job Opening – Executive Director, GFMA (Deadline: Wednesday 22 March 2017)

    The Executive Director position is currently open at the GFMA. You can view the job description here and it is also available on the GFMA website: www.gfma.org. Please recommend or forward to any qualified individuals you believe may wish to be considered for this role.

    The Executive Director reports to the GFMA CEO and will also have a dotted line reporting relationship with the GFMA Board of Directors and the regional association CEOs. The Executive Director is responsible for the day to day management of the Association, including all policy initiatives, advocacy and communications efforts, and all internal and external strategic and operational matters. To be successful in this role the Executive Director must have a clear understanding of the issues confronting the industry globally and be able to address these issues in accordance with the direction of the Board and the support of the regional member associations.
